Everything I make starts with a fascination that's translated by my hands. I grew up digging in my garden, camping in the wild and the backyard, pocketing whatever natural wonder caught my eye. That instinct never left. The scent of damp leaves underfoot, rain pounding on a tent, the creatures that chirp, buzz, and gargle are forever inspiring. Nature has always stirred something deep inside of me.
The studio is where all of that stays alive. My hands bringing those sense memories into being.

Shell Vessels
Over many years of making and remaking, one shape keeps surfacing – the shell – and it's the form I feel deeply connected to. Shells have always called to me both from the water and from land. I have an affinity for snails and snail shells. A mobile home built to last, a lifetime within a perfectly shape vessel, comfort attached to the body.
Shells from the water hold the same allure, a vessel fused to the life inside it, part shelter, part temple. That image lived in my head long before my hands ever shaped it.
I'm continuously exploring different textures, colors, and forms which can endlessly be rearranged. Every vessel is unique in itself. Just as in nature.
My shell vessels will hold whatever you give them. Perhaps a small private treasure, candles, flowers, or the memory of something shared. Let them be an altar to celebrate your life.
